Notes and Updates for the Club:
Our regular club meeting on March 13 will be an evening meeting, 6pm at the American Legion in Palmyra.
The Sodus Rotary Club would like you to know about an upcoming fundraiser concert featuring Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out.  The Bluegrass performers appear at the Sodus Central School Auditorium March 23.  Tickets are $20 and available at the Sodus Rotary website: http://www.sodusrotary.org/events/
The annual Wayne County Rotary Spelling Bee for Literacy Volunteers was held Saturday, Feb 23.  Our own Pal-Mac Interact team, “Miss-Spellers” took first place in the youth division for the third year in a row.  “Spell Like the Wind,” sponsored by Ontario-Walworth Rotary took first place in the adult division.  Our club’s team, “BBLT” came in somewhere between fourth place and last place.  Many thanks to our club members for their support and to Bob Ike, who served as pronouncer along with Don Alhart.
March is Literacy Month.  Our club is assembling “Reading Adventure” packs, to be distributed to students in the Pal-Mac School District.
Bob Ike is now our program coordinator.  He offered sincere thanks to Deb LeMoyne for all the hard work she put into making our meetings informative and fun.  He also mentioned that we now have, on loan from the school district, a laptop and projector at the Legion for presentations.  The laptop does NOT have a cd-drive however, so your speakers will need to have their presentations on a USB-drive, or bring their own laptop.  Programs are being assigned to members alphabetically.  Watch your e-mail for messages from Bob.
The GSE team from Switzerland/Latvia will be visiting our club from May 23-27 (not March, as reported in the last Crier – oops!).  Host families have been lined up.  Since the team will only be with us from Thursday through Monday, we are moving our meeting that week to Thursday evening.
