Birthdays and Anniversaries:
Margaret’s birthday was last Saturday.

Fines, Happy Bucks and Confessions:
• Dianne had a happy buck for her daughter Autumn, who tried out and got a solo part in the 4th grade chorus.
• Leslie was in Charleston over the weekend for a school conference.  Also, she tells us that Juliana has been training for several months and ran in the “Disney Princess” half-marathon on Saturday, then ran a 10k on Sunday.  Finally, she offered thanks to Joy Ike for baking up a fresh batch of the dessert Leslie tried to win at the dessert auction.
• Eric and Trevor visited Kyle at Clarkson.  Eric went to school there, as did Trevor, and now Kyle.  This was the first time all 3 were there together.  Eric discovered that 64 is too old to party with the college kids.  41 is too old, too.
• Mark went to Tug Hill last week for a snowmobile vacation.  It was very cold, but a lot of fun and the scenery was beautiful.
• Arnie had a happy buck for his mother-in-law getting better.
• Dave offered a buck for his granddaughter Zhanya, who competed in the Monroe County Nordic Ski Championships for girls Varsity, in her first year on the team.
• Bob Sloan pitched in a buck for winning Mark and Kim’s annual big buck competition.
• Joan welcomed a new great-grandson, Wayland Jacob Howell.
• Margaret confessed to 9 days in Colorado with her daughter and her family.
• Anne spent 4 days in Little Rock and also had a happy buck for son Stephen and the Ithaca Bombers.  In a recent game, Stephen scored his first college goal!

Singing:
Kim brought us a new original song which reflected our attitudes about the recent weather:
BRRRRR  (to the tune of “Over the Rainbow”)
Some day in the near future
   Warmth will come.
We hope it will be real soon,
   We’re tired of being numb.

   Sub-zero temp’ratures
   Have got to go.
They make it hard to enjoy
   Our 15 feet of snow.

If Happy Snowbirds fly so free
   To warmer climates
   Why, oh why, don’t we?

Arnie Pechler presented his “Rotary Minute” this afternoon, giving us a little background on himself and a some insight into what makes him tick.  Personally, I will not soon forget one thing Arnie told us:  “Life is worth living; people are worth loving; and God is worth trusting.”  Thanks, for sharing with us, Arnie.

Our monthly assembly auction raised $84 for the Rotary Foundation today.  Thanks go out to the donors and the winning bidders!

Bob Ike was the winner of this week’s 50/50 drawing; he donated his winnings to our visiting student.
