Our speaker today was Bob White, president of Orchestrate Success, a consulting firm based in Ontario, NY.  Bob specializes in process improvement, and personal coaching.  He has over 30 years’ experience in manufacturing, quality control, and management.  He is a second-generation Rotarian (Ontario-Walworth); his father Harry was a member of our club.

Bob spoke to us today about leadership, and the qualities of a good leader.  With input from the club members, a list was created.  The list showed that a good leader would need to be: honest, decisive, organized, calm and collected, in addition to being a good listener and communicator with a positive attitude.  Not everyone has these traits, but the traits can be learned and developed.

Another characteristic of a good leader is open-mindedness.  We are conditioned to see things the way we do.  As children, we were truly open to new thoughts and new ideas.  But, as we age we tend to perceive things by habit.  As a result, we become less open to new ideas.  Bob and his associates work with people to help them open up to new ideas, and to find ways to better plan for success.  We’d like to thank Bob for his entertaining and informative talk today.
