Fines, Happy Bucks, Confessions:
• Gene confesses that the Yankees seem to have hit a “bump in the road,” but reminded us that the Red Sox were in a similar situation last year.
• Kim thanked Joan for handling fair booth sign-ups; told us her son Dan has been promoted to E5, Petty Officer 2nd Class; and had a fun high school reunion.
• Dave Pray gave a happy buck in honor of his brother Roland’s appearance on the Back Porch at the County Fair.
• Rory Sloan had a happy buck for Youth Football and for taking Mila to lunch.
• Autumn Sloan had one also, for Youth Football Cheerleading.
• Leslie offered a happy buck to welcome Juliana back from Florida.  Leslie got to spend some time there, visiting Walt Disney World and Universal Studios.  She said that Harry Potter world was awesome.
• Peter thanked Joan for calling to put him to work at the fair booth.  Also, he took part in a golf tournament with a friend and won a golf bag.
• Tom Breen happy-bucked for 11/12 of a great Red Wings game on the 3rd, for the Rotary night.  He and Marty left after the 11th inning, missing the 12th inning win.
• Vicky had a buck for the Red Wings also, feeling bad that she and Bob also left too early.
• Eric was also at the game and threw his buck in, too.
• Pam put forth a dollar for the Red Wings game, and said that over 500 tickets were sold in the district, which will help Literacy.

RYLA Recipient Michael Murray, with President Pam

Leslie introduced our guest, Mike Murray, recipient of our club’s RYLA for this year.  RYLA, the Rotary Youth Leadership Award, provides thousands of young adults around the world the chance to attend seminars, camps, and workshops where leadership skills are discussed and learned through practice.  Mike attended the RYLA seminar this summer at RIT, and shared with us some of his experiences and lessons learned.
