At the beginning of today’s meeting, we took a moment to honor our friend, Roger Wilbur,
who passed away last month, by adding his dinner badge to those of other Rotarians who
have gone before.  They continue to have perfect attendance in our hearts and in our memories.

Please remember the following in your thought and prayers:
21 students and a security guard were injured this morning in a stabbing rampage at a Pennsylvania high school.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

Singing:
In honor of Lt. Col. Ferguson and the VA representatives, we sang “God Bless America.”

Birthdays, Anniversaries:
As of last week, Dick Kirchhoff is now 88; on Friday, he and Mickey will celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary.
Gary and Terri Hopkins are celebrating their 19th anniversary.

Fines, Happy Bucks, Confessions:
• We all pitched in a happy buck in honor of Dick’s birthday, anniversary, and recent excursion with Honor Flight.
• Maurina confessed to missing the joint meeting with the Lions Club last week.
• Tom Ferguson offered a correction to PE Bob Yost, who introduced him as Colonel Ferguson.  Tom is a Lieutenant Colonel, not a Colonel.  He says the “Army didn’t have that much of a sense of humor.”
• Dave Read tells us his grandson Teddy Courtney is starting Army Basic Training.  Dave wonders how Teddy will survive ten weeks without a cell phone, but wishes him well!
• Bob Yost informed us that his daughter Heather was sworn in to the US Marine Corps today.
• Joan offered a happy buck because she knows one of our guest students today; Caley is her granddaughter.
• Dave Stachnik offered a dollar as he lamented his terrible bracket.
• Andy had happy bucks for the Pal-Mac girls’ and boys’ lacrosse teams.
• Bob Sloan had a happy buck because one of the kids at Rotary Reads ran up and hugged him.  That’s the kind of thing that makes you feel special and lets you know you’re having an effect on the kids.
