Fines, Happy Bucks, Confessions:
• Bill had a happy buck for the Wayne County Fair Queen Pageant, which he attended with Pam.  It was a very nice event and they had fun.
• Marie was happy about the Canal Trail cleanup last Friday; also happy about the Pal-Mac athletes who came to help with cleanup at Gravino Park on Saturday.  Kids at heart, they took time to play on the playground while they were there.
• Gene and Shirley have a new great-granddaughter, 7 weeks old yesterday (4/29) “and smart as a whip.”

• Kim and Mark were happy to joined by their granddaughter Sofia.

Notes and Updates for the Club:

- The club’s May 14 meeting, which was to be an evening meeting, has been rescheduled for Noon instead due to a conflict at the Legion.  Only the time has changed; we will still meet at the Palmyra American Legion, and the Interact Club will run the meeting.

- Earlier this year our club, along with other clubs in the district, donated to an international project to fund a mobile eye clinic in India.  We have been informed that the van from which the clinic will operate has been purchased.  They expect the clinic to be up and running by June.

- Bob Sloan tells us that Camp Onseyawa has a dress-up day at camp each year, and is in need of old prom dresses and suits for the campers, who really enjoy this activity.  Also – the annual Onseyawa golf tournament is scheduled for June 7 in Seneca Falls.  See Bob for details.

- Dianne Sloan proudly announced that our inbound exchange student has been selected.  His name is Jonas Ivanoc.  He is coming from Slovakia, and is a soccer buff.  Host families will be needed.

- On a related note, Dianne is taking over the position of Youth Exchange Officer for our club.  For the past several years, this post was held by Anne Morrell, who will be even more involved with Youth Exchange at the District Level.  Thank you, Anne, for the wonderful job you did; and congratulations, Dianne – we know you’ll be great in that post.

- The Interact Club is sponsoring a blood drive at the High School on May 9 from 8 to 1:30.  This drive will be open to the public as well as to students.  The next morning, May 10, they will host their re-scheduled pancake breakfast at the Palmyra Fire Hall.

- The club changeover picnic is being planned, and that means it’s time to consider our annual awards.  If you know of someone who should be considered for a Paul Harris Fellow, please inform Cindy, Kim, or Dave Read.  Tom Breen will be polling the club for Rotarian of the Year at the next couple of meetings.
