Fines, Happy Bucks, Confessions:
• Bob Sloan was happy to announce that he and Dianne will be running the Flower City Half Marathon on Sunday, the 28th
• Eric was not here last week, having vacationed in Aruba. He recalls there may have been as many as two days that were overcast. (No fine for Eric, though – he had the exempt button.)
• New member Eric VanZeilen and his wife found out that their twins will be a boy and a girl.
• Wynnette and Richard welcomed their 22nd grandchild.
• Gene Bassage is happy back from Florida,with his best girl Shirley.

Notes and Updates for the Club:
- There will be an electronics recycling event Saturday, May 4 at the Palmyra Fire Hall, from 9am – 1pm. Contact Tom Breen for info on what will be accepted.
- Route 21 highway cleanup will take place Saturday, May 4. Meet at the Yellow Mills Diner at 8am, then on to the town barn for a 9:00 start. It should take about 3hrs to complete. If you haven’t signed up and would like to, please contact Bob Yost.
- The Palmyra-Macedon School District is the unofficial winner of the $25,000 grant they were hoping to get for their Explorer Bus.
- The Camp Onseyawa golf tournament takes place June 1. Cost is $85 per person. Contact Bob Sloan to arrange for your foursome. Also available are green and hole sponsorships; cost to sponsor is $250 and $100, respectively. Again, Bob Sloan is the man to see.
- The cemetery urn project is getting underway. Again this year, we are looking for volunteers to help scrape, paint, and plant 5 urns at the Palmyra cemetery. Cindy Surline passed a sign-up sheet around today. Contact her if you would like to pitch in on this easy community project.

We had several guests today from the District Literacy Committee. They were on hand for the
ceremonial presentation of the proceeds from this year’s Spelling Bee. The annual event raised
$4,340 this year for the Wayne County Literacy Volunteers.
Our newest member, Eric VanZeilen was inducted at today’s meeting. Assistant
Governor Tim King took part in the induction ceremony. Eric is a funeral director
with Murphy Funeral Services. He was given his Rotary apron, pin, and welcome
kit – including the ABC’s of Rotary. Please introduce yourself to Eric and sign
his book. Welcome, Eric!
Our monthly assembly auction raised $52 for Polio Plus today. Lots of delicious treats will be happily consumed by the winners.
Wynnette $13 in the 50/50 drawing, which she donated to the Fair Booth project.
