The two Frankenmuth Rotary Clubs, both Noon and Morning, are co-organizing a Watershed Cleanup project. This community, environmental event will be held on Saturday morning, April 27 (Saturday after Earth Day) to clean up and remove trash from ditches in the area. Those ditches are one of the first links in the overall Saginaw Bay Watershed.
On the 27th you will come to Heritage Park at 8:30 AM for your instructions and trash bags. We need volunteers! Please go to the website address: https://tinyurl.com/u26rkk3x to register. Contact Ed Foltz at efoltz@rummelinsurance.com if you have any questions. During the registration process you will also be able to print a waiver to bring to the event, and also order your volunteer T-Shirt while supplies last.
Volunteers will be given their location and bag supply upon arrival to Heritage park the morning of the event, and then proceed to their assigned area. Participants will return filled trash bags to our dumpsters at Heritage Park.
Volunteers will be given a one (or two mile) section to pick up trash in the ditch for 3 hours. Dress appropriately for the weather and terrain. High waterproof boots and work gloves are recommended. A long handled rake is helpful for deeper water filled ditches. Wear bright clothing or your own safety vest. And utilizing a pickup truck, or trailer, is helpful to bring the trash back to the collection site.
This can be a great family service activity, or group activity!

The St Lorenz Interact Club hosted a Purple Pinky Project to help eradicate polio by raising $1 for every pinky that gets painted.
This is a symbol stemming from Rotarians immunizing children. When a child is immunized, Rotarians mark their pinkies with a topical purple dye to prevent double dosages, and to identify those who have not yet been immunized. Through Rotary International's efforts, polio has been eradicated in all but 2 countries worldwide.
The Frankenmuth Noon Rotary Club will hold this 31st annual event on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 5-8pm. Vendors will be spread out at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. Frankenmuth area food and beverage vendors will serve up their finest dish or drink. A raffle will also be held. Tickets are $25 each and are available from any Frankenmuth Noon Rotarian, Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth, Frankenmuth Credit Union or at the door. If you have questions, please email azgrossi@bavarianinn.com.
Proceeds go to River Walk Extension and Community Improvement Projects.
