WELCOME BACK!
Beginning with our meeting on July 12, The Waukesha Rotary Club will once again start meeting in person at our Rotary Building at Frame Park, from Noon - 1:00 PM. Our new caterer will be Bubb's BBQ - All Occasions Catering. We are grateful to the 2020-21 board of directors for all they have done to keep us going during COVID and we are very excited to do more in Service Above Self in the upcoming year.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND:
The 14th annual Waukesha Rotary BluesFest will take place August 13 & 14, 2021 at Naga-Waukee Park in Delafield, WI. The Sign-up Genius will be out shortly. Please be generous with your time and volunteer for as many slots as you can.
BLUESFEST T-SHIRTS:
We are now taking orders for our 2021 BluesFest t-shirts. There are 2 styles to choose from - either one for men or women. Cost will be about $15/shirt for our members. Sizes are from Small to XXXL. Attached are pictures of both shirts. Please email ckalscheuer@wi.rr.com with your name, style (traditional blue or tree tan), size and quantity. The cost of the shirts will be added to your July billing.

DISCOVERY TRAIL AT RETZER PROJECT UPDATE

Insect Exploration Station Concept Illustration
The first phase of the Discovery Trail Project at Retzer Nature Center was completed in fall 2020. This included reconstructing the old trail to ensure ADA accessibility, constructing a connector path to meet the new accessible boardwalk trail, harvesting trees for reuse in the design, laying large climbing boulders and restoring the area with native trees, shrubs and plants.
The paving of the old path was critical to create the foundation and access to the new interactive ‘Exploration Stations” being installed in the second phase. Phase 2 construction will start later this summer to install an entrance archway and signage, a stone outcrop seating wall, and the insect and wood climbing exploration stations.
A public fundraising campaign will be launched on July 12, 2021 to raise funds for additional educational elements in future years.
