It will be a virtual Social (Zoom). You bring your own drinks and snacks. Sargent at Arms Paul Bugenhagen says he is going to have crab roll ups and maybe something bacon wrapped and grilled. Someone else said they are going to grill (light a candle and roast a marshmallow). LET’S HAVE SOME FUN!!! Join us. (For security reasons, the Zoom code will be emailed to you separately.)
Club Meeting: Monday, May 4th, Noon to 1:00 pm. We will be sending more information about this meeting as we get closer to the date. Waukesha Park and Rec has cancelled all events at the park buildings for the month of May, so all of our May meetings will be via Zoom.
Board of Directors Meetings:
Club Board of Directors: Tuesday, May 12, 2020, 7:30 am. We will be meeting via Zoom. If you are not a board member, you are still welcome to join us. Please email Colleen for the call in number.

Help Wanted: The Charitable Fund Board will have 2 openings on the board for 2020-2021. This is a popular board to be on, so if you are interested in helping out, please contact Mary Baer or Paul Hoefle as soon as possible. Potential candidates have to have 50% or more attendance at our club meetings and must have earned their blue badge status of membership.

Nepal, India Project: Postponed until possibly the end of August.
District 6270 Grants:In the next few weeks, you may be hearing bits and pieces about district grants. Club President Pete Bosch and President Elect Ken Genin will be attending the online training required by all clubs in order to qualify to apply for the grant. We will be submitting an application for this grant by May 31st. Although the board is looking at a couple of endeavors, our project has not been finalized. If you have a suggestion, please contact Pete or Ken.
Twenty-one Rotary District Grants were approved in 2019-2020 by the District Grant Committee in District 6270. A total of $58,100 was awarded to fund clubs’ humanitarian service projects.
A total of 21 applications were received for District Grants from Clubs in our Rotary District for the 2019-20 Rotary Year. The District Grant Committee reviewed project applications in early July 2018. All grant applications met the criteria for District Grants in Rotary District 6270. The largest grant approved was $3,000. The smallest grant amount approved was $1,500.
Funds for District Grants are made available through District Designated Funds (DDF) received from The Rotary Foundation based on contributions to the Annual Fund of The Rotary Foundation made three years ago. A total of $61,694 was budgeted for District Grants for the 2019-20 Rotary Year. We have received notification from The Rotary Foundation that our application for district grant funding has been approved and that funds will be released to District 6270.
Half of approved grant funds will be disbursed to clubs in early August 2019. The remaining funds for each grant will be disbursed to clubs following completion of each club’s project and approval of the final project and expense report by the District.
Approved projects (2018-19) addressed a wide variety of humanitarian, educational, and poverty alleviation concerns. They included efforts to provide access to water, improvements in health, literacy support, food and agriculture, and community development. Most of the projects are conducted in Wisconsin, although there are projects in other countries – Ghana, Guatemala and Haiti.
Projects must include hands on participation from a club's members.
