“Peace is much more than the mere absence of violence.” – Past Rotary International President Ian Riseley

In 2017, Rotary entered a new partnership with the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP) to enhance its peace and conflict resolution efforts with data-driven methodologies and tools.  IEP had pioneered a conceptual framework for Positive Peace.  Summer Lewis works for Rotary International as the Coordinator for the Rotary - Institute for Economics & Peace Partnership.  She will tell us how the partnership enables both organizations to teach Rotarians how to apply new peacebuilding methods to their communities by addressing underlying causes of conflicts.

Summer Lewis is a Rotary Peace Fellow.  With her acceptance into the Rotary Peace Fellowship program, she attended the Peace Center at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.  In 2012, Summer earned her Master’s Degree in International Studies: Peace and Conflict Resolution.
