For several years, author Jane Kurtz and a whole team of other writers (and illustrators) have volunteered their skills to create books in English and three Ethiopian languages. These Ready Set Go Books, a project of the Seattle nonprofit Open Hearts Big Dreams, are designed to strengthen global literacy and provide reading practice, as well as teaching students in Ethiopia more about their own geography, history, agricultural possibilities, wildlife, birds, and more.
Join us to hear from Jane Kurtz, an award-winning children’s book author, who spent most of her childhood in Ethiopia where her parents worked for the Presbyterian church for 23 years.
