May 23, 2017 was a landmark day in the history of the Pleasantvale Homes Society, as the members passed a resolution to dissolve the Society.  After a 60-year history of building & operating 50 units of housing for low income seniors in Kelowna, the Society completed its mission by entering into an agreement with BC Housing, the City of Kelowna and the Society of Hope, resulting in the construction & occupancy of a new housing complex that will ensure the Pleasantvale legacy carries on well into the future.  The new 50-unit seniors building is, in fact, named “Pleasantvale.”

The members also passed a resolution that will see the funds remaining at the Society’s wind-up being donated to the Pleasantvale Homes Legacy Fund within the Rotary Club of Kelowna Foundation.  This fund is dedicated to continuing to serve the needs of seniors & others, in furtherance of the original purpose of the Society.
