Can you believe we are already at the half way point for Jons year?  Time flies

Message from your President
Hello everyone.  The Rotary year so far has been great! We have been able to meet in person for the whole 6 months and it has been nice to see everyone.  The lunch location at the Match has worked out pretty well.  If you haven't been out in a while, come on out for lunch in the new year.  From a projects perspective, we have successfully had our Ribfest, Lobster on the Run, Pints for Polio and weekly meat draws at the Barley Mill.  We have participated in the Ironman aid station, had a very nice BBQ party at John's (thank you John and Barb) and locker clean up (thank you Barb and Gary).  Hosting Honzik was a pleasure for the past 3 months.  I am looking forward to the next 6 months and all the wonderful things we do as a club to support our community.  JON

So what has happened this year so far……..let’s take a walk down memory lane..

Fundraising
The year started off with Ribfest in July,  our club made $14,000 from Ribfest and it was held at Skaha Lake park, different venue, different weather this year…..

Then we had Lobster Feast on October 1st, the event this year was run at the Seniors Centre , still with a drive thru and online auction.   The event raised $24000 for the club, the weather was warm and the Lobsters were juicy

November 2nd Pints for Polio happened at the Cannery – We had a great turnout and raised $2257.40 for Polio through silent auction and ticket sales.

Our weekly meat draws are running at the Barley Mill every Sunday from 1 pm - 3 pm and Rotarians have been helping Tracy Comber out by taking a Sunday to do the meat draw – this years meat draw $ will go to a local project – volunteers are always needed and so are baskets - come out and enjoy the meat draw Sunday at the Barley Mill !

Starfish is going strong and Tracy Van Raes is bringing in money for this.  To date we are feeding 94 kids in over 11 schools!!!

We continued this year doing Sowins kits for the South Okanagan Women in Needs Centre – to date we have done 39 kits since 2019 – these are valuable tools for women fleeing abuse and they are very happy we are able to donate these
