This is Earth Week. April 22 is Earth Day. It is a day when Americans renew their commitment to care for the environment.
One way many of our clubs have and are showing their caring is through planting Pollinator Gardens. This is a relatively easy project for clubs and individuals alike. Pollinators, bees and butterflies rely on these plants just as we depend on pollinators. More than three-fourths of the world’s flowering plants and about 35% of the world’s food crops depend on animal pollination to reproduce.
District 5960 is joining other Rotary Districts in signing the Operation Pollination Pollinator Resolution on April 22nd. It is a commitment to collaboratively and strategically protect and enhance pollinator species and their habitat on public and private lands throughout Rotary District 5960 located in NW Wisconsin and SE Minnesota.
Registration for the Conference of Clubs is open! As more Minnesotans are vaccinated yet practice pandemic safety, we are planning an OUTDOOR, FAMILY-FRIENDLY Conference of Clubs on Saturday, June 5th , 10am - 2pm , at the Rotary Pavilion in Levee Park in Hastings Register today!
