Jeremiah Cook4Kids: Tuesday, March 5
The Jeremiah Program is grateful to have members of The Rotary Club of Rochester help bring families from poverty to prosperity two generations at a time. Cook 4 Kids is an integral part of Jeremiah families’ week – a chance for them to enjoy a meal they don’t have to prepare, witness the generosity of others firsthand, build relationships and comradery with other families, and gain more from the fifth pillar of the Jeremiah program – “Supportive Community.”  Our club's next Cook 4 Kids meal is scheduled for Tuesday, March 5 from 4:15-6:30 p.m. Members of TRCR's Mentorship Program will be volunteering along with TRCR members.

February is Share the Love month for the Rotary Foundation
Share the Love this month by contributing to the Rotary Foundation. Imagine the impact your donations will make.
District 5960's February SHARE THE LOVE campaign in support of our Rotary International Foundation. Contributions to the Foundation’s Annual Fund-SHARE are the funds that come back to our District to use for grants that positively impact people in our communities and around the world. The more we all give, the more impact we can make!

Make Peace Visible "Peace Talks"
MAKE PEACE VISIBLE "Peace Talks"- Part of the three-year initiative is to provide peace talks. The purpose is to expand our awareness of professions, organizations, and individuals integrating peace into their work.

March 1 - Irene Kelly and Suzanne Kochevar are members of a team of 5950 clubs that have helped the Lake Street Area rebuild. It is a story worth repeating and worth replicating in the under served areas within our own communities. Registration Link

March 22 - John Noltner - In the fall of 2020, award-winning photographer John Noltner and his wife Karen sold their home in Minneapolis and hit the road to live small, listen deeply and learn about who we are as a country. 900 Days, 93,000 miles, hundreds of stories, one goal…in a divided world, to rediscover what connects us. Registration Link

Have you missed a Peace Talk? Visit the District 5960 Peace Talks Library to view video recordings, Link.

Rotary Ethics & Peace-building project kicks-off on Feb. 12
UPDATE - February 13, 2024:
Yesterday, February 12, the Rotary Ethics Peace Building Project was held and it was amazing! Patricia Shafer from NewGen Peacebuilders did a masterful job, nine Rotary volunteers from the Rotary Clubs of Rochester interacted with the students and John Marshall H.S. teachers and staff who attended, and the JM students had meaningful discussions in their small groups and made presentations to the entire group. At times, 65 students were in the room.

Checking your Rotary Foundation donations and Paul Harris points

As a Rotary member, if you've ever given to the Rotary Foundation, it's a good idea to periodically check your donations totals and points you've accumulated towards a Paul Harris Fellow recognition by checking your individual Donor History Report. The report provides members, former members, and all who have donated with total giving summaries to the Annual Fund, Polio Plus, and Endowment Foundation.  It also includes, where appropriate, information on Bequest/Legacy Society and Benefactor Commitments.

Checking your individual Rotary Donor History Report is easy to do - click the "Read more . . ." button to learn how.

Rotary and Toastmaster alliance
As a Rotarian, if you would like to gain more knowledge about the Rotary/Toastmasters Alliance consider attending one of local Toastmasters International free local public speaking contests.  This year two competitions will be held -- Table Topics and International.  Table Topics speeches are completely impromptu.  Winners of the International competition will compete at successive levels--with the ultimate winners competing this summer at the World Championship of Public Speaking at the International Convention in Anaheim, California.

Check out the contest fliers for more information and registration.
