Rotary After Hours is on hiatus in June / July

The Rotary Club of Rochester's Rotary After Hours gathering will NOT be held on June 3 or July 1. Join your fellow Rotarians the first Thursday in August when we will meet (hopefully) in-person at a local establishment.

The Youth Commission promotes inter-generational civic engagement and leadership opportunities for high school age youth in Olmsted County. The commission has been supported by the Rochester City Council and the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners for more than 25 years.

Submit your TRCR Community Foundation grant application by June 10

The Rotary Club of Rochester Foundation will be changing its name to The Rotary Club of Rochester Community Foundation. This name change is taking place to emphasize that the official goal of the foundation is to improve the quality of life in the Rochester area by supporting projects that focus on promoting health, education and self-development of people in the community.

With that in mind, the foundation board is creating a new community grant. Keeping with the original intention of the foundation, this grant will only be available to fund projects in the Rochester area. The grant will be awarded annually and provide up to $5,000 in funding. Applicants must be a member in good standing of the Rotary Club of Rochester. Members may apply for the grant on behalf of an organization or project, whether they are directly involved or just believe in the work being done. The grant will be awarded by a committee made up of foundation board members.

Mark your calendar for June 24 - Club Leadership Changeover

Mark your calendar to attend The Rotary Club of Rochester's leadership changeover when members will extend their thanks to outgoing Board members and Club President Chris Colby and install our club's 2021-22 President Audrey Betcher and Board members.

The plan is to host a hybrid meeting with both an in-person meeting option at the Rochester Golf and Country Club and offer a virtual meeting via Zoom.

June 25 - District Governor Installation

On Friday, June 25, you will want to be at the Blue Boat in Mankato for the celebration and start of a new Rotary year when we can serve to change lives. Hors d’oeuvres will be served with a cash bar. There are hotel rooms available at the Hilton Garden Inn if you want to stay the night.

Buy SCRIP Cards for everyday use

Did you know that if you buy the majority of your gas at Kwik Trip, you could pre-pay for your gas AND help the club at the same time? A $100 Kwik Trip card immediately creates $5 for the club and any in-store purchases creates another 5% donation.If you would like to purchase Scrip cards, send an email to romnrotary@gmail.com with how many and what denomination you'd like. In additional to Kwik Trip, Scrip cards are also available to Apollo Liquor and Menards. The cards are purchased at face value, but the club receives 5% back from Apollo Liquor and Kwik Trip and 4% back from Menards. The club receives an additional 5% on purchases at Kwik Trip, other than gas, inside the store.
