The Rotary Club of Rochester Foundation will be changing its name to The Rotary Club of Rochester Community Foundation. This name change is taking place to emphasize that the official goal of the foundation is to improve the quality of life in the Rochester area by supporting projects that focus on promoting health, education and self-development of people in the community. With that in mind, the foundation board is creating a new community grant. Keeping with the original intention of the foundation, this grant will only be available to fund projects in the Rochester area. The grant will be awarded annually and provide up to $5,000 in funding. Applicants must be a member in good standing of the Rotary Club of Rochester. Members may apply for the grant on behalf of an organization or project, whether they are directly involved or just believe in the work being done. The grant will be awarded by a committee made up of foundation board members.
The applicant should demonstrate how the funds will be used to promote health, education, or self-development. If the funding will be going to a registered non-profit, funds may be transferred directly. If the funds will be used in a project organized by a Rotary member, not affiliated with another organization, the foundation will work with the member to implement the funding to accomplish the project.
For 2021, applications must be submitted by June 10, 2021, to The Rotary Club of Rochester Community Foundation via e-mail to benscoter2019@gmail.com. Please put Community Impact Grant in the subject line. Your submission should include the following information:
- Member Name
- Title of the project
- Is this project affiliated with an organization?
- What is the name and legal status of the organization?
- What is the purpose of your project?
- When will it start and end?
- What do you need to make this successful?
- What is the proposed budget of the project?
- How will the funds be put to use?
- How does the community benefit from your project?
