Quarry Hill Nature Center - 701 Silver Creek Rd NE - Rochester Meet at the pond pavilion – a short walk from the front doors of the nature center
*While not actually planting trees in 2024, this year’s efforts will focus on preparing an area of forest near the Quarry Hill pond for a Spring 2025 planting. Work this year will be focused on removing invasive buckthorn and removing woody branches from diseased ash and box elder trees that have been removed from the area. Wear close-toed shoes and long pants and bring work or garden gloves. All the work tools will be supplied by the City Forestry Dept. and Quarry Hill Nature Center.
The Jeremiah Program is grateful to have members of The Rotary Club of Rochester help bring families from poverty to prosperity two generations at a time. Cook 4 Kids is an integral part of Jeremiah families’ week – a chance for them to enjoy a meal they don’t have to prepare, witness the generosity of others firsthand, build relationships and comradery with other families, and gain more from the fifth pillar of the Jeremiah program – “Supportive Community.” Our club's next Cook 4 Kids meal is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21 from 4:15-6:30 p.m. Thank you for volunteering TRCR members!
Plenty of parking downtown, meter parking or parking ramps -the closest ramp to UMR is 1st Street Parking Ramp. Once parked, take the skyway into University Square. Come up to third floor - either by stairs or elevators - both immediately visible when you walk into the square.
Through the years, The Rotary Club of Rochester has accumulated "points" which can be converted to Paul Harris Fellows. The points total continues to grow so the TRCR Board decided now is as good a time as any to share the spirit of Rotary and the honor of awarding Paul Harris Fellows to deserving members of our community. Nominees can be a Rotarian but do not have to be as a nominee can be anyone in the community.
Rotary Clubs of Rochester members Patricia McCleese and Kristi LaPlante discussed the Rotary’s Ethics and Peace Building work on KTTC's Midwest Access program on April 30.

A small group of Rotary Club of Rochester members regularly clean White Oaks Park on the third Wednesday of each month during the warmer months, usually beginning at6:00 p.m. for less than an hour.
Why not join? A bucket or plastic garbage bag, gloves and good shoes is all that's needed for the clean-up. There is a sign in the park stating that the park has been adopted by our club. If you would like to help keep the park clean and be outdoors, come the next third Wednesday of the month.

Rotarians and guests are invited to join the Rochester Rotary Risers the fourth Monday of every month (Third Monday in May - May 20 - due to the Memorial Day holiday) from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Channel One to serve our community.
Each month following our service, volunteers gather socially at one of Rochester's food and beverage establishments. On May 20, volunteers will meet at Wildwood Bar and Grill.
The Risers are grateful to the Karsells who have joined them at both at Channel One and our social outings the past several months, but they could use several additional volunteers. Sign-up information appears regularly in the Riser's club newsletter, or follow these steps to register:
May is Rotary’s Youth Service Month! Throughout the month, Rotarians, Rotaractors, and younger members of the Rotary family, including Interactors and RYLA and Rotary Youth Exchange participants, celebrate the service, leadership development, connections, and FUN of Rotary’s programs for young leaders.
Every year, over 350,000 young leaders participate in Rotary’s youth programs across Interact, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), and Rotary Youth Exchange. Rotary’s Youth Service Month is an opportunity to promote our young leaders’ local and global impacts and the Rotary and Rotaract clubs that make these programs possible.
