Rotary Midday Meeting
Join us this Thursday, October 8, 11:30 am - 1:00 pm at Rochester Golf and Country Club for lunch and social time, Rotary information, and a program. We will hear from Curling Club of Rochester board member Marty Walsh. The curling club is a 501(c)3 social and athletic club that has been bringing the Olympic sport of curling to Rochester since 2017. Nearly 120 members curl at the North Rink of the Rochester Rec Center, as well as on outdoor ice at Little Thistle Brewing during winter months. The Curling Club of Rochester is seeking to build a dedicated ice facility that will allow the club to grow significantly and add even more to the culture of Rochester. They estimate over 1,000 people have been on the ice in the last two years, despite the very limited available ice time.

The Rotary Club of Rochester has purchased twenty-four boxed lunches for this gathering. If you plan to attend and would like to reserve a lunch, please register online now at https://portal.clubrunner.ca/5636/Event/rotary-midday-meeting-12. You may pay online at registration or upon arrival at the meeting.

If you prefer to join us online via Zoom, Rotarians and guests on our regular communications list will receive the link. Others may contact the Rotary office at romnrotary@gmail.com and will be emailed the Zoom invitation. Additionally, the meeting will be posted on The Rotary Club of Rochester Facebook page and Rotary Club of Rochester YouTube channel after the event.

Toy Sorting at Salvation Army
Rotarians and friends of Rotary joined Rebecca Snapp, Director of Community Engagement at The Salvation Army Rochester, MN on Thursday, October 1 for a special Rotary After Hours. Not only did the troup socialize and network, they also worked to sort toys already contributed for the 2020 Toys for Tots event and in storage at Salvation Army. There are two more opportunities to attend a Rotary After Hours at Salvation Army and help sort toys. They will take place on Thursdays, November 5 and December 3 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. Groups will be limited to eight. You can sign up now via the calendar links on our website.
SCRIP Available for Purchase
Scrip cards to Apollo Liquor, Kwik Trip, and Menards are still available for purchase to support The Rotary Club of Rochester. Remember, you purchase and spend the cards at face value, and the club receives 5% back from Apollo Liquor and Kwik Trip, and 4% back from Menards. The club gets an additional 5% on purchases at Kwik Trip, other than gas, inside the store.

If you would like to make a scrip purchase, please email the Rotary office with your request. Apollo is sold in $10 increments, and no change is given in store. Kwik Trip may be purchased in increments of $5 up to $25, increments of $25 up to $100, and then $200, $250, and $500. Credit remains on the card until the full value is spent. Menards cards may be purchased in any denomination between $10 and $2000 with the credit remaining on the card, as well. Apollo and Kwik Trip cards will be delivered within a few days, and Menards cards may take up to two weeks. Scrip cards make especially great gifts for celebrations, including birthdays and graduations!

Separate from the Scrip program but another way to support Rotary is Amazon Smile. If you are already shopping on Amazon, please consider shopping Amazon Smile instead. Same items are available, but if you designate The Rotary Club of Rochester Foundation as your organization of choice, Amazon donates a portion of your purchase to RCRF. Thank you for your support!
