Have we got a deal for Rotarians at this week's Rotary Club of Rochester midday meeting. We will have not one but two speakers at Thursday's meeting beginning at noon via Zoom.
The club input session and club visioning sessions are complete. Rotarian Julie Brock will provide an update on where we are in the process and what comes next as we build a strategic plan centering on growth, relationships, and service above self. The Rotary Club of Rochester Foundation will be changing its name to The Rotary Club of Rochester Community Foundation. This name change is taking place to emphasize that the official goal of the foundation is to improve the quality of life in the Rochester area by supporting projects that focus on promoting health, education and self-development of people in the community.
With that in mind, the foundation board is creating a new community grant. Keeping with the original intention of the foundation, this grant will only be available to fund projects in the Rochester area. The grant will be awarded annually and provide up to $5,000 in funding. Applicants must be a member in good standing of the Rotary Club of Rochester. Members may apply for the grant on behalf of an organization or project, whether they are directly involved or just believe in the work being done. The grant will be awarded by a committee made up of foundation board members.

The meeting will be held in-person at the Rochester Golf and Country Club. A virtual meeting option via Zoom will also be available.If you plan to attend in-person, please sign-up by noon on Monday, June 21 and indicate whether you intend to purchase a box lunch for $20.
On Friday, June 25, you will want to be at the Blue Boat in Mankato for the celebration and start of a new Rotary year when we can serve to change lives. Hors d’oeuvres will be served with a cash bar. There are hotel rooms available at the Hilton Garden Inn if you want to stay the night. The event is free, but you need to register here!

In additional to Kwik Trip, Scrip cards are also available to Apollo Liquor and Menards. The cards are purchased at face value, but the club receives 5% back from Apollo Liquor and Kwik Trip and 4% back from Menards. The club receives an additional 5% on purchases at Kwik Trip, other than gas, inside the store.
