The Rotary Club of Rochester has a new opportunity to support a Rochester program that offers one of the nation’s most successful strategies for transforming families from poverty to prosperity. The Jeremiah Program's Mission is to "Disrupt the cycle of poverty for single mothers and their children two generations at a time." Jeremiah’s proven, holistic approach begins with establishing a supportive community for single mothers to pursue a career-track, college education. Through a combination of quality early childhood education, a safe and affordable place to live, and empowerment and life skills training, families find stability and a path out of poverty. The Rochester Jeremiah mothers meet every Tuesday evening for Empowerment and Life Skills training. Prior to class, families (35 mothers, 35 children, and 10 babies) are provided a meal, through donations from local groups and individuals. TRCR members donated $500 for a Tuesday evening meal in June for all the Jeremiah families. So far, there are donations of $300 toward a July meal. If you would like to contribute toward a July meal, please send a check, for your chosen amount, made out to: Jeremiah Program - Rochester. In the memo line, note "Cook4Kids" and mail your check to:
