That is NOT the question.

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
As winter draws near and we celebrate Rotary International (RI) Foundation Month, I would be remiss in my duties as your past President if I did not remind you to consider giving to the foundation this month.
On Thursday, November 8th, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a great program hosted by our club with presentations from the District as well as members of our club sharing the good works that Rotary does.  Much of this work is made possible by the donations made the Rotary International Foundation.

Here are a few reasons why you should consider giving today:
  • Polio Plus – we are SO close to eradicating polio from the world.  Now is not the time to quit!  Your gifts to Polio Plus help us honor our commitment as a club to this program.
  • World Community Service – we are blessed to have a dedicated group of individuals from all three clubs working together to make exceptional use of your contributions to RI.  Every dollar donated comes back to our club to fund Global and District grants.  These works would NOT happen without our contributions.
  • EREY = Every Rotarian Every Year (pronounced ee-ray).  Several years ago, Rotary International set the goal of every Rotarian giving something every year. The amount doesn’t matter, the gift does.  Whether its $10, $25 or $100, every gift counts.  You can click here https://www.rotary.org/en/donate to donate now – I just did.  Easy peasy.
  • Paul Harris Fellow – every dollar you donate to the RI Foundation counts towards a Paul Harris Fellow.  Once you reach $1,000 in giving, you are recognized.  Now, I realize not everyone cares about recognition and yet, the act of giving should be recognized.  And you join an esteemed group of individuals.
  • Giving feels good . . . giving to an organization that allows you to determine what happens with your gift through directing it to Polio Plus or working with World Community Service, feels GREAT!  Where else do you get to give and have a say in where that money goes?
We are part of an extraordinary organization that does incredibly good things throughout the world.  Your contribution today will help fund projects well into the future.  Can I count on you?

Thanks for your time!
