2nd Thursday Mid Day Meeting

A buffet lunch is available at the Even Hotel for $21 for those who register by noon the Tuesday prior to the meeting. Lunch is available for $26 the day of the meeting however we do need you to register on-line if you plan to eat. This will ensure we have an accurate head count for food.

Program: Medcity Moonshots-Alternative Baseball-

The Med City Moonshots is a Rochester- based community team as part of the Alternative Baseball Organization. Alternative Baseball believes in creating excitement, empowerment, and enrichment through the authentic baseball experience for teens and adults with autism and other disabilities.

The Med City Moonshots are comprised of athletes, ages 15 and older (with a wide range of disabilities) that play traditional baseball, with a larger, softer ball.

Many athletes are denied opportunities due to the commonly low perception of what one with disabilities can and cannot accomplish. The Med City Moonshots were established in 2020 as the only alternative sport that plays by traditional baseball rules Since then, we have added 25 players and have pushed each player with disabilities past their ceiling to develop new skills, that they have not been able to attain playing adaptive sports. Moving forward we are planning to add a new team to encompass all the players that are interested in playing.
