Greetings Everyone,
David Brown gave us a great recap and insight into what is going on with growth and development  in Omaha.  Over the past 15 years we have had over $15 billion in capital investment into over 800 projects.  The key focus now is how do we carry the success into the future and continue the momentum.  David laid out some key points of focus.  Continued growth not just in quantity but in quality of investments.  Working to create 10,000 quality jobs, focus on tech startups with a collaborative effort in hopes of seeing 250 new tech startups in the next 5 years.  They are also focusing on how to keep our young people who are ready to enter the job market here instead of moving away, and to attract others into our market from outside our area.  We want Omaha to be a place people want to live and work and to get the word out.  The future looks bright but challenging and we are very fortunate to have such a progressive and active Chamber of Commerce in our city.  Thank you to David for his leadership and thanks to Cella for another great program.

Special thanks to Taylor and her committee for a great service project at Ronald McDonald house.  It is always very rewarding to get out and serve.  Let's get engaged!

Congratulations to Cella Quinn and Gary Bren for achieving their Paul Harris +8 awards.  They are truly an inspiration to the rest of us in how to give back and make the most of Rotary.

We are working on our club challenge to have 100% participation in giving to Rotary International by the end of the year in any amount.  I hope you will consider a $100 donation, but we are hoping everyone will give in any amount to help meet the goal.  Talk to Heather Legge if you have any questions on how to give.

I hope everyone has a great week.
Brad
Rotarian in need of Prayers
Dear Rotarians,
Last week within a couple of hours following her gymnastics class, Tracy Madden-McMahon's 11 year old daughter, Drew, suddenly lost all use of her arms and legs. She has inflammation of her spine. There is no known cause and tests are still being run for a definitive diagnosis. This week Drew will be transferred from Children’s Hospital to Madonna Hospital for rehabilitation that could take weeks, months or even years. As you can imagine, this must be frightening to their whole family. Tracy would appreciate everyone’s support and prayers for Drew’s recovery.

The home address of Tracy, Sean & Drew is
12802 Craig Street, Omaha, NE 68142

For those of you wishing to send cards.
Thank you.

In the event of inclement weather, Downtown Rotary follows Omaha Public Schools.

We have taken this policy for the safety of our members and the staff at the Field Club.
We appreciate your understanding.
