Thank you to each of the hosts for our Business Networking this week. We appreciate the opportunity to learn more about what your organization does and the ability to meet with other Downtown Rotary members in a smaller group environment. These events are an important part of our Rotary Club. Thank you also to Theresa Contreraz for you hard work in putting the event in place and working with each of the hosts. I attended the Business Networking lunch at the MICAH House. Jaymes Sime did a great job of hosting and telling us about the programing they provide to families and the partnerships that are available through the cooperative environment at the Charles Lakin Campus in Council Bluffs. I would encourage each of our members to consider hosting Business Networking if and when the quarterly opportunities are available.
Thank you to: Rotella's Italian Bakery, MICAH House and Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital.
We are printing a new Rotary Roster that will be used in many different ways. It’s a great opportunity for you to advertise your business to our Rotary membership and it is given out new members at orientation. In addition, the Roster is available on our website. Most importantly, this is as a money-maker for our club.
The ad costs are quite reasonable…from $30 up. Deb Skinner will be reaching out to all members who advertised last year. If you are interested in advertising this year, just email Deb at Debra.skinnner@alegent.org
Arch Klumph’s idea for an endowment fund dedicated to “doing good in the world” planted the seed for The Rotary Foundation in 1917 through an initial contribution of $26.50! In 100 years millions of lives around the globe have been transformed.
During the month of November, our club invites all members to please say YES to giving $26.50 to the Rotary Foundation in honor of this historic beginning.
Note: Donations to “Annual Fund-SHARE” under the Rotary Foundation count toward Paul Harris recognition and generate local district funds (or a specific area of focus may be selected). Mark your preferences on the form at the meeting or when giving online (at https://www.rotary.org/myrotary/en/take-action/give).
I have walked, driven, and flown many miles to support the eradication of polio, and now I'm going to ride a bicycle in the Indoor Ride to End Polio taking place in November 2016. Now, I don't own an indoor bike, and my outdoor bike hasn't been used in two years, but I plan on doing whatever it takes to accomplish my goal of 60 minutes -- I even bought the shirt!
I am a proud member of the #RotaryDistrict5650 Indoor Team!
Rotary International staff will join Rotarians from District 5500 and around the world as they challenge themselves to ride up to 104 miles to raise funds in the Ride to End Polio, part of El Tour de Tucson 2016.
All contributions will be matched 2:1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Please consider supporting this effort to #EndPolioNow.
