If you missed the meeting this week you missed John Mock stepping up to a whole new level. He was kind enough to fill in as secretary and told a joke that was both appropriate and funny! Amazing! Maybe there is something to this new designation as clergy that he has taken on.
Bill Harvey gave us a great update on giving for Rotary International showing that we as a club are very close to achieving a record for giving and encouraged anyone in the club that has not given yet this year or that is willing to make an additional donation please do it now. We have 10 days left!
Kris Lowery from O!Language accepted their organizations grant check from our foundation and also was our speaker talking about the great work they do in overcoming the language barrier especially for people new to the U.S.. The organization was formed in 2017 as a non-profit and is working to have university level curriculum in language learning at a more affordable price to help people learn language and be able to get jobs and improve their ability to get through the maze of becoming a citizen. They are working to have 5 levels of ESL classes and to offer conversational hour on Fridays and have some online classes as well. Feel free to check out their offerings on their website, who knows maybe you can learn to be bilingual as well.
Just a few days left to accomplish the "Engagement Challenge" award for the year. If you have any areas to complete such as donations, or committee meetings, or offering to help at next week's meeting get it done now. Next week will be "Bling Day" and we will see the final results of our challenge.
Have a Great week and don't miss next week as I hand off the Reigns and give some much deserved recognition.
This will be a fresh and exciting weekend with inspirational, informative speakers and family events.
