Fun meeting this week, sorry if you missed it.  We had many guests and even a Rotarian visiting from Germany that is currently traveling around the U.S. with his wife and will end up in Iowa for his class reunion from the 60's when he was an exchange student.  Also lots of good news and some exciting career changes in the club.

Camille brought us a fun infomercial from the Omaha Community Playhouse to tell us about the Musical "Ragtime" which is showing at the Playhouse now through the end of June.  They even brought a couple of members from the show and they performed one of the songs from the show.  It was awesome!

Our program today was presented by one of our new members Dr. Donny Suh (pronounced "Saw") talking about "How Rotary missions change People's Vision and lives".  Dr. Suh is Chief of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Children's Hospital and was recently named inventor of the year at UNMC.  Dr. Suh  has used his skill as a pediatric eye surgeon to participate in or put together over 20 trips into the mission field all across the world helping with Vision education and treatments.  He has shown an amazing passion to pay forward all the blessings he has received since growing up in poverty.  He shared amazing stories of vision and hope restored and the transformations in the lives of many people that would typically never have access to this type of care.  The work continues as he and his team are working with 3D printing technology to try and create inexpensive eyeglass frames that can be custom fit for special needs.  These would be fitted with inexpensive lenses in hopes of bringing access to affordable ($3) eyeglasses to those in need.
Truly inspiring!  Thank you Dr. Suh for all you do and to Cella for another great program.

Don't miss next week as we get to see presentations of all the awesome grants provided by our Foundation this year to help our community.
Let's engage and have a positive impact on the world!
Have a Great week.
Brad
