In Person Rotary Meetings Suspended

The Field Club of Omaha is currently closed. In the mean time, please join us for a weekly virtual Zoom meeting.
Stay tuned for any changes or updates. Thank you.

President's Pen
We certainly have some fun meetings via Zoom.  Sometimes they are informative and help us think about our mission statements of truth, fairness, goodwill and remaining beneficial to the world and sometimes it’s just fun!
Yesterday being given a virtual tour of Top Golf by Rachel Rypel was a fun time.  Rachel is director of sales and moved to our fair city in December with her husband and 2 children from Alabama where she was an Executive Director with the YMCA.  Although the pandemic has changed many of the expectations Top Golf had for the Omaha area, Rachel explained what they hope to do and how they plan to do it.

Top Golf was set to open on March 27th, and they are now waiting for the green light to proceed.  Top Golf is a driving range, a restaurant, sports entertainment venue and a bar.  Currently those components are everything that has been shut down due to the pandemic.  They are now in the throes of rearranging set ups to comply with the new restrictions that are in place.  The retail area will be removed completely.  The restaurant, with a chef run kitchen is set up for social distancing.  Top Golf will provide the opportunity to eat lunch and hit balls or just come and eat dinner.  The building is two levels with the restaurant and a bar on the lower level as well as a partially covered patio area.  There are 36 bays on each floor.  A bay is an area where 6 people can play top golf together and it comes equipped with golf clubs and balls.  There are 14 different types of games to play.  Barriers have been placed to separate the bays for social distancing.  Events of 12 people or more can be hosted there with food and golf and drinks set up as an individual buffet.

Top Golf is open year-round; each bay has its own heater and fan controls.  In addition to happy hours, birthdays and anniversaries and other events they also support 501c3 fundraisers for non-profits.  A fundraising event of 30 people or more comes with free room rental and half off on Top Golf play. A group bigger than that earns $1500.00 of an elite membership that can be raffled off, auctioned off or saved.  There is also a platinum membership. The indoor event space has a second-floor bar and privacy options.  Another area is the terrace which is open to groups while networking or waiting for a bay.  The bays are available for online reservations.
Every golf ball has technology to keep up with your game.  There are no children allowed on the top floor but they do have kiddie clubs for use on the main level.  Customers are allowed to bring their own golf clubs.

Great presentation from Rachel, I hope we get to do a social networking or fundraising event there!  Hope to see everyone next week for our upcoming Zoom meeting.

Don’t forget to look for your survey to help determine when we can get back into our Field Club comfortably and safely!  Have a fabulous week!

- Camille
