Dr. Eileen Wirth is a professor emeritus of journalism at Creighton University and a senior writer for Legacy Preservation. A native of Nebraska City, she was a reporter at the Omaha World-Herald and a public relations writer for Union Pacific Railroad before joining Creighton in 1991. She chaired the Department of Journalism, Media & Computing for 19 years and retired in 2016.

Wirth has written eight books including several on regional history. These include From Society Page to Front Page, the history of Nebraska’s women journalism; Historic Omaha Houses of Worship and her forthcoming book on the history of Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium.

Recently, Past President Cella Quinn introduced newest Rotarian Jason Lenagh. Jason is an Omaha native, a South O Boy. He knows what it means to work hard and strives to live of life of integrity. Jason is happily married to his lovely wife Jill. They have 2 children Verona and Desmond ages 9 & 5. Jason cares about people and finds purpose in helping them live their lives in a way they deserve. He is a man of faith and hope to make a positive impact where he can.”

Recently, Heidi McGinness presented President Sean Connolly and Immediate Past President Aileen Warren with the Rotary club banner from the Nakuru Rotary in Kenya. Heidi was in Kenya recently related to her work in that country.

July 12, 2022. Past District Governor (PDG) Lloyd Gnirk recognized the outgoing Rotary administration led by President Aileen Warren. PDG Lloyd detailed the accomplishments of the Warren Administration who excelled in all five avenues of Rotary service: Vocational, International, Club, Community, and New Generations. Congratulations and thank you to Immediate Past President Aileen Warren, her board and leadership team, and all Rotarians for making 2021-2022 a great Rotary year!
