Rotarians, As we are two months into 2022, I hope you and your families are doing well. As a club, I am so proud to say we have continued to meet in person, volunteer in the community, and support and care for each other. There are so many projects/events the club has been involved in since the last President’s Pen so thought it would be good to recap some of our activities. Kids against Hunger Project Omaha Downtown Rotary is partnered again this year with the Suburban Omaha, Millard, and West Omaha Clubs on a service project for Heartland Kids Against Hunger. The goal of the event was to pack 25,000 meals for the Heartland Hope Mission. Stephen Center Meal Service Rotarians assist with serving meals to the Stephen Center Residents. Business Networking at Film Streams Dee Haj and Film Streams hosted our first Business Networking of the year. We learned how theaters are run, and Dee gave some insights into their operations. XMAS Tree Recycling Club members volunteered to help Omaha residents recycle their Christmas Trees again this year. Outland Trophy The 8th Tom Osborne Legacy Award sponsored by members of the Omaha Downtown Rotary was presented at the annual Outland trophy dinner. |
