What a fun time we had at Rotary this week. A special thanks goes out to Bob Bolden for sharing his delicious wine with us, to the Field Club for providing a lovely holiday meal and to the Rose for sending us some great talent to liven up our holiday gathering. If you missed it we had a lovely time at the home of Kathy Estes for our annual Holiday social event. I’d also like to thank Gary Bren for providing a few moments of thought provoking stories to remind us why we do what we do in Rotary. Thank you to all that made these special moments happen.
This is a time of year to reflect on what we’ve done and what we can do. My commitment to Rotary came from our motto of Service Above Self. My hope is that everyone that commits to Downtown Rotary remembers that and holds that in their hearts as we carry on into 2020. I’d like to thank everyone for your support for these first few months of my being your president. My hope is to be a better president this upcoming year and to lead us into our best expectations as a Rotary Club.
Thanks to Leigh Sittanauer who always keeps us together and organized. I so appreciate her care and concern for our group. Thank you also to our Smooth Jazz Secretary, Deb Skinner, for keeping us happy at every meeting and to Aileen Warren for being willing to step in at a moments notice.
I wish everyone the Merriest of Christmases, the Happiest of Holidays and the Best New Year ever. It’s 2020…a new decade and a time for us to make a difference in our world. Let’s do it.
