Past President's Pen
Member pictureWe had a fabulous meeting Wednesday May 3rd at the Field Club !  Those that attended would agree.  Those who missed the meeting missed a great message.

Thanks to Sister Maryanne Stevens and Sarah Kottich for a wonderful presentation on the College of St Mary.  They are making history with major reductions in tuition rates.   Armed with statistics clearly showing national wide that young students are choosing not to go to college at alarming rates.  The correlation is clearly linked to the rapidly rising costs of tuitions at all public and private colleges and universities .  College of St. Mary is initiating  a unique solution---lower  its tuition rates by 33 %.  What a plan!  For more details, contact directly these two speakers to learn more and on how you might help.

President Ewing was called away for a funeral, so I was given the opportunity to sub for him in conducting the meeting.  My special thanks to Leigh for arranging the agenda and details. She made me look good as did the greeters; Jena Bailey and Jim Stewart, Navigator; Steve Carper, Registration; Gretchen Kirchmann, Sgt. at Arms;  John Marburger..... and The Music—thanks to Erik Soballe and Dr. Jim Scott-Miller.

It was a special honor for me to present a Permanent Badge to Jena Bailey.  Welcome Jena to YOUR membership into Downtown Rotary!

Everyone have a great week.
