Buchholz served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (retired 2021) at Black Hills Corporation (NYSE – BKH)
Scott Buchholz’s career at Black Hills spanned 40 years, including the last 13 as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Office reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. In addition to leading an organization of over 250 employees and an annual budget of $50 million, Mr. Buchholz’s executive/leadership highlights and key accomplishments include:
Strategic technology visioning and roadmap creation (technology vision 2025)
- Design and implementation of physical and cyber security strategy, policies, and framework
- Integration of (people, process, and systems) following utility acquisitions
- Development of strategic technology vision and roadmap to support our supply chain
- transformation initiatives
- Led development and execution of facilities master plan including the build-out of a new
- transformational corporate headquarters
- Led the creation of a formal corporate continuous improvement strategy and implementation of
- organizational plan in support of the corporate objectives
As the SVP/CIO, Mr. Buchholz led the information technology related infrastructure and services
organization in support of the delivery of electricity and natural gas services to 1.3 million customers in eight Midwest states. During Mr. Buchholz tenure, he engaged regularly with the company’s Board of Directors, attended, and participated in all quarterly board meetings and was the management liaison related to technology and security topics.
In addition to leading the information technology function, Mr. Buchholz was responsible for corporate facilities, real estate, aviation, physical and cyber security, and technology compliance functions. During his tenure, Mr. Buchholz also led the supply chain and fleet organizations (2012-19) and continuous improvement (2010-16) organizations.
Mr. Buchholz currently serves as a Director on the Board of Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce (2020-25), Sarpy County YMCA and Omaha/Millard Rotary (2021-25). Mr. Buchholz is a past member of the Omaha Chief Information Officers (CIO) Leadership Group, American Gas Association’s Technical Advisory Council (TAC) and Edison Electric Institutes CIO Energy Advisory Committee. Mr. Buchholz’s prior board service includes serving as a Director on the Board of Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce from 2010-15, (including serving as the Chamber’s Board Chair in 2013-14). As Board Chair, Mr. Buchholz led the chamber through a sudden CEO departure and recruitment/hiring of the new Chamber President, who still serves in that position today. Mr. Buchholz served on the Board of the Nebraska State Chamber (2015-17) and on the Applied Information Management Institute (AIM) board (2015-18), a non-profit helping to advance the use of technology across the state. Mr. Buchholz holds a B.A. in business administration from Bellevue University, Bellevue, Nebraska, an Executive MBA from Rockhurst University, Kansas City, Missouri and is a trained Six Sigma Back-Belt.

Jeff Grewe is the founder and CEO of Arbor Aesthetics Tree Service. His journey in arboriculture began in 2005 with nothing more than a handsaw, a borrowed pickup, and a dream. He quickly discovered his passion for tree care and beautification, which laid the foundation for the company’s growth. In 2013, Jeff met his wife, Amy, and together they expanded Arbor Aesthetics, focusing on delivering an unparalleled customer experience.
A Nebraska Certified Arborist, Jeff is also Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (TRAQ) through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and a former President of the Nebraska Arborists Association. Under his leadership, Arbor Aesthetics has been recognized as a "Best of Omaha" winner since 2015 and is one of only two tree care companies in Nebraska accredited by the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA). He is also an active member of Entrepreneurs Organization, where he enjoys mentoring other small business owners.
Beyond tree care, Jeff is passionate about cultivating a positive workplace culture. He leads with vulnerability and encourages his team to embrace the company’s purpose: "Meaningful Growth for People and Trees." Together with Amy, he carefully selects team members who align with the company’s core values of Ownership, Courage, and Show Up & Serve. Nearly all Arbor Aesthetics staff members are Certified Arborists, but more importantly, they are genuinely kind people.
Outside of work, Jeff enjoys spending time with Amy and their two sons, Miles and Roy. As a family, they love hiking, gardening, and fostering a deep appreciation for the outdoors—especially teaching their children how to climb trees.
