Past President Brad Burklund shared his recent mission in Haiti. Inspired by Brad's report and the need for shoes for the children in Haiti, Past President John Sullivan, led Rotarians in raising $1,200 in 38 seconds to purchase shoes for the children in Haiti. At our last Rotary meeting, Brad Burklund provided an update on Mission Haiti that he and his family support. He challenged our club to support the mission by collecting shoes for the school children of Haiti.
New and gently used shoes are needed. You can support this cause with a donation to the service club which will support purchasing new shoes. You can also clean out your closets and donate those no longer needed shoes.
Children and adult sizes are needed. Sneakers and dress shoes are appropriate, and all shoes must have a closed toe to be accepted. In particular, children sizes 7-9 and young adult sizes 1-4, but all sizes accepted, including adult.
Please bring your shoes to the next Rotary meeting where Brad and I will see that they get collected and included in the next shipment to Haiti.
