Lloyd has been a member of the Rotary Club of Omaha since 1983. He has served as chair of many club committees, as well as a member of the Board of Directors and also as Club Secretary in 1993-94 and as Club President in 1999-2000. In 2005-06, he served as District Governor of Rotary District 5650. He has served as co-chair of the Rotary Foundation Permanent Fund. He has also served as chair of the District Finance Committee.
In 1974 he received a BA in French and a Teacher Certification from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, has a Master of Divinity from St. Paul Seminary in St. Paul and was ordained to the priesthood in 1978. Lloyd also received a Master of Science in Secondary Administration from Creighton University in 1984. His professional experience includes teaching assignments in many Catholic schools, assignments in several Catholic parishes, serving as President of two Catholic high schools and as Pastor at three Catholic churches in the Omaha area, as well as serving the Archdiocese of Omaha in many other areas. From 1996 until 2008, he served as Pastor of St. Pius the Tenth Parish. Currently he is Pastor of St. John’s in Valley, NE and President Emeritus of Roncalli Catholic High School in Omaha.
In addition, Fr. Gnirk has served on the Omaha Mayor’s Clergy Advisory Board, the Metropolitan YMCA Board, Mount Michael High School Board of Directors and Roncalli Catholic High School Board of Directors. He has served on the Priests’ Council of the Archdiocese of Omaha, including three years as President and as a delegate to the National Federation of Priests’ Councils. He has also chaired and presented at break out sessions at the National Catholic Education Association national conventions. He has also been on the faculties of the Pastors’ National Development Congress in Phoenix and the Omaha Development Institute.
