Whole Blood Initiative
Reynold Henry, MD, MPH, is a trauma surgeon, Air Force officer, and medical educator based in Omaha, Nebraska. He serves at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he cares for critically injured patients and trains future surgeons. As a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force, he supports the readiness of military medical teams for deployment to conflict zones and humanitarian crises. Dr. Henry also leads efforts to improve emergency care in civilian communities—most recently helping to launch a groundbreaking pre-hospital whole blood program that delivers life-saving transfusions before patients even reach the hospital. He is deeply committed to advancing trauma care and expanding access to lifesaving interventions for all patients, both in military and civilian settings.
