The Kids Against Hunger project is a multi-club project with contributions from our club, West Rotary, Millard Rotary Club, and Suburban Rotary. We will package a total of 41,800 meals! These meals will stay local and be distributed through Heartland Hope Mission (serving West and South Omaha) and Heart Ministry Center (serving North Omaha)!
The West Omaha Rotary Club, Suburban Rotary Club, Millard Rotary, and the Rotary Club of Omaha will partner with Kids Against Hunger on a food packaging volunteer event on February 22, 2025. Between all three clubs, we are in need of a total of 140 volunteers (40 volunteers per shift).
Volunteers will gather at 1 of 4 tables and package food in an assembly line format.
February 22, 2025
Shift 1 8:00AM to 9:30 AM (40 volunteers needed)
Shift 2 9:45 AM to 11:15AM (40 volunteers needed)
Shift 3 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM (40 volunteers needed)
Volunteers can be between the ages of 5 to 80! This is a great way for younger children to get involved. Volunteers are asked to pull hair back AND either wear a baseball cap or a hair net will be provided. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes as you will most likely be standing for the entirety of your shift.
The event will take place at 4418 S 180th Street Omaha. Volunteers will enter at the red “Love Church” sign on 180th & J Street. Follow the drive back to the large garage and park in front of the garage.
Because of this wonderful volunteer opportunity, local food banks, including Heart Ministry Center, serving the North Omaha community, and Heartland Hope Mission, serving West Omaha and South Omaha communities, will receive 13,600 meals each!
Sign-ups will be available soon.
