July 23 is our deadline to sign up to help paint a house for an Omaha Resident. Our club foundation provided a grant to support this project and we have been asked to help paint a one-story home on Saturday, August 21, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Our home is located at 5710 North 36th Street. It is a one-story home that will need the siding (metal), trim and foundation painted. We plan to arrive by 7:30 a.m. to start painting at 8 a.m. I am told we should be done painting by no later than 2 p.m. Sign up here to help. You must sign up by Friday, July 23 in order to get a free lunch and t-shirt!
We are sharing the responsibility of painting this house with the Omaha Jaycees, who have an experienced crew to support our involvement. The Omaha Jaycees have 6 ladders they will provide and all other painting supplies will be provided.
You don't need to be a skilled painter to volunteer, and all volunteers will be given a free t-shirt to wear, bottled water and lunch on paint day.
Click here to sign up directly on the website. Please register to help by July 23. We need approximately 10 volunteers to help with this project. Once I receive the registrations for our club, I will be in communication directly with more instructions. Thanks Aileen, Camille and Nash for being the first to sign up! Follow our current president, past president and immediate past secretary's lead and join in the fun!
Project Houseworks has a mission to paint homes for elderly individuals who cannot afford to hire or paint them themselves. My own grandmother was the recipient of a crew of volunteers to paint her home several years ago. The gratitude she felt and the impression it made on her was a bright spot for years following. There are so many ways we can provide Service Above Self. This is a great one.
Best regards,
Lindy
