At last weeks Rotary meeting, we had the pleasure of listening to Josh Martin and Nasteha Sahal discuss their experience with Camp Enterprise!
At last week’s Rotary meeting, we had the pleasure of listening to two great speakers – high school students Josh Martin and Nasteha Sahal! These students were sponsored by the Rotary to attend Camp Enterprise. Camp Enterprise is a three-day camp for high school juniors and seniors designed to introduce students to the free enterprise system and encourage entrepreneurship and ethical business practices. This was Camp Enterprise’s 39th year of operation!
Josh and Nasteha talked about how through the camp they learned more about leadership, ethics, and responsibility alongside highly motivated students.
The students were tasked to come up with and resent projects based on given scenarios. Each team of students was comprised of real-life job titles (CEO, CTO, CFO, etc.) and both Josh and Nasteha were their respective company's CTOs.
Josh’s experience at Camp Enterprise was nothing short of amazing. Through being the CTO of an exercise mirror company, he learned all about data privacy and ethical decision making. Nasteha also had a great time as CTO of her company, Find my Gold Ball (The Rotarians at the meeting wish this was a real product!)
The networking opportunities and relationships built with not only peers but key speakers is invaluable to these students.
Each year, at least five $1,000 higher education scholarships are awarded to students of exceptional merit. In total, Camp Enterprise has awarded more than $80,000 in scholarships since its inception. Thank you, Josh and Nasteha for presenting to us!
