ST PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATION
It all started in the tasting room and on the veranda looking over the beautiful West Texas skyline. Seventy Rotarian souls and their guests gathered to socialize and enjoy the awesome hospitality of Amber and Monty Dixon and their staff at the Bar Z Winery.
The weather blessed us with a very light breeze and a temperature unusually pleasant for this time of year. La Fiesta catered our Italian three course dinner and Monty Dixon gave us a short introduction to the wines served with each course.
Now most folks probably enjoy corned beef and cabbage on this day (Dale Bippus, 355-4338) with green beer but we do things a little different in West Texas. All in all we shared a good time, it was beneficial to all concerned, built better friendships and was fun.
SCENES FROM THE BARREL ROOM
Those of us at the Round Table were the bouncers and crowd control crew. (Betty Keith 376-1333) Now if you believe that... I just blew the first tenet of the Four Way Test. You can believe that our next social will be just as much fun and a more cultural event. Please mark your calendars for Rotary Night at the Opera featuring The Pirates of Penzance on Friday April 2nd. More to come.
The Foundation drawing pot has not yet reached it's most historical high but it is a respectable amount of $3090.00. Someone will draw that Ace of Spades for half the pot and then we fund the Polio project and start all over again. We are pretty good at this form of fund raising.
Everyone have a Blessed Easter and see you this Thursday.
