Create an action plan!
President Marion Muyobo
January was not the usual slow start for Rotary in Uganda. We had the weeklong visit by the Rotary International President Stephanie where she graced a myriad of events such as the TRF dinner the Peace Symposium, Peace Concert, Peace Walk, Rotaractor meet including participating in some of the RYLA activities as a participant. The club was ably visible at all these events and we learnt a lot. We were very proud to have sent over 20 Rotaractors from Rct Kampala Central (10), Nakawa Vocational Training College (5), CapeMunyoyo (5). From the feedback of this event one of the things that stood out for me was the 10 points on Goal Setting. My takeaway from this was that I am going to have only one Goal to eat healthy and achieve my Weight Goal.
  • Set a Goal
  • Know where you are right now to know the gap that has to be bridged to reach your goal
  • Be clear about what the purpose of the goal is.
  • Ask yourself why you want to achieve it
  •  What are the actions that will get you to your goal ?and by when?
  •  what daily routine are you going to put in place to achieve this goal?
  •  what are the potential obstacles?
  • What are the potential solutions to these goal?.
  • Create an action plan
  •  keep track and document your progress.
In the Rotary calendar January is Vocational month and the club was honoured to present an award of recognition to Hope Amayo who through an organisation 7 hills supported marginalised groups in the slums of Kampala to get jobs taking them away from lives of crime, skilling them and supporting them to earn an income and save for better livelihoods.
