Student of the Month

Our January Student of the Month is Talon Hoefer. Talon is the son of Rick and Jennifer Hoefer. He is active in Robotics, Spanish Club, National Honor Society, and is a D.A.R.E. Role Model. He is also a frequent volunteer at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church as a member of the Youth Group, Worship Board, and a first and second grade Sunday School teacher. Talon has also volunteered throughout the community. In addition to his church, he has accumulated over 400 hours of community service with the hospital and school. On top of his activities and volunteering, Talon is a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, Assistant Manager of the Humboldt Family Aquatic Center, a Certified CPR instructor through the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association, as well as a Certified Lifeguard Instructor through the American Red Cross. Talon's future plans include attending the University of Iowa to study Pre-Med and pursue a career as a doctor.
Our November Student of the Month is William Dunscombe. Will is the son of Mary Dunscombe and the late Rob Dunscombe. Will is involved in Student Senate, Spanish Club, TEAMS, Quiz Bowl, Musicals, Spring Plays, Cross Country, Soccer, Robotics, National Honors Society and National Scholars Association. Currently his future plans are to attend the University of Iowa and major in Pre-Med and Psychology. In addition to Will's school activities he works in the Produce Department at Hy-Vee, coaches for the Humboldt Recreation Department and is a part of the Courtesy Crew at Oak Hill Marina in Arnolds Park, Iowa.
The October Student of the Month is Geoffrey Bruder. Geoffrey is the son of George and Joyce Bruder. He is active in football, basketball, track, JETS/TEAMS, fall musical crew, KMO/Quizbowl, National Honor Society, Iowa Student Senate Learning Council, TAG, and Student Senate. Geoffrey is also on the National Council for Youth Leadership, is a youth flag football and basketball coach and youth swimming lesson instructor. He has held jobs as a lifeguard at the Humboldt Family Aquatic Center and detasseler for Pioneer. Geoffrey plans to major in Pharmacy at either South Dakota State, Drake or Creighton University.
The first 2014/2015 academic school year Student of the Month is Emma Bennett. Emma is a four sport athlete. She is involved in Student Senate, Silver Cord, Spanish Club, Cross Country, Basketball, Golf and Softball. She is also a Sunday School teacher, on the National Council for Youth Leadership and is a student coach for the Humboldt Rec Dept. She is the daughter of Roger Bennett and Lori Ricklefs. Her future plans include attending Iowa Central Community College to obtain her AA in Radiology Technology and then transfer to the University of Iowa to possibly major in Pediatric Radiology . Emma has been employed at the Humboldt Family Aquatic Center and the Caribbean Coffeehouse.
