2013 Fly In
The 12th annual Humboldt Rotary Club Fly In Breakfast was held at the Humboldt Municipal Airport on August 4, 2013. This year's profits have been designated to go toward Taft Park/Rotary Field renovations.
The Gronbach Grill Team cooked the scrambled eggs, sausage and pancakes. Rotarians and spouses served 990 meals between 7:00 a.m. and noon. There were 51 planes that attended the event. Plane rides were given to 120 people by Lou Fontana, John Boleyn, Doug Bacon, Tim Anderson and Tony Christensen. A huge thanks to both of these groups as well as other members of The Flying Wildcats, Humboldt Parks Department, Humboldt Airport Commission, Civil Air Patrol, Hy-Vee and Sparboe Farms for their contribution and/or donations.
This event has been a unique community project for our club. One of the highlights this year was the arrival of Mike Henningson's P-51 Mustang from Oshgosh, WI. Many thanks to Fly In Coordinators Dave and Deb Dodgen and Dean Telford for your organization and leadership. A special thanks also to the spouses that assissted. We have been blessed with great weather, workers, and community support.
