Last Week's Meeting

I filled in for President Sue at this noon's Rotary meeting.  We had a good turnout, although I didn't get the exact numbers.  Chris Pasha served up a meal including a make-your-own salad, apricot glazed chicken, white fish, baked potato, mixed vegetables and lemon meringue pie.

 

My Rotary moment was to thank the club for our support of Alan and Amanda at our Holiday Party, and to keep them and Scott and Debby Hammond in our thoughts and prayers. The Hammond's son Paul's MDI funeral service was Thursday at 2:00p at the Congregational Church.

 

Liz Graves filled in as Sergeant at Arms and introduced guest of Judi Noonan, Laurel Wentworth-Roach. Laurel is Judi's boss at Darling Insurance and was here to support Judi in her Classification Talk.

Since we haven't had a real song leader since Dana Reed and Don Hobbs. I lead the singing of Happy Birthday Rotarians. After that, James Collier noted that Liz Graves, who can actually sing, should be our official song leader. Moved, seconded and unanimously approved!

 

I did Happy and Sad Dollars before Announcements, which confused everyone, especially Lisa Clark. My apologies!

1) Reminded us of the Toy Drive for the Barbara Bush Cancer Center

2) Paul Hammond's service is/was at 2:00p Thursday at the Congregational Church. Kim O'Brien at the YMCA is/was looking for help and food donations. As a postscript, the church was full and overflowing with people remembering Paul and supporting Scott and Debby, and Kim had plenty of food and help.

3) The interact Club will be at our meeting on December 23 and will show a video of their UN visit and projects.

 

Joe Losquadro won the raffle for a whopping $5, and donated it to Alan and Amanda's travel expenses.

 

Judi Noonan gave a very informative talk on what is means to be a commercial underwriter and broker, and the difference between the two.
