Rotary was founded by Paul Harris in Chicago in 1905.

It now includes over 28,000 clubs with over 1,000,000 members in over 150 countries and geographic areas.

The Rotary Foundation provides some $60 million for international scholarships, cultural exchanges, and humanitarian projects that improve the quality of life for millions of people.

Through the PolioPlus plan, Rotary has helped to now almost completely eradicate polio from the world. More than one-half billion children in developing nations have now been immunized against polio
