A fantastic evening was had by all at our change over dinner, chef Kouma once again cooked us a gourmet delight 3 course meal.
I’m delighted to be President again for another year, a first for Broadbeach Rotary Club. I am looking forward to the year ahead for the club and all the members.
A very busy year the club has had we have raised over; $20,000 in sausage sizzle sales, over $800 in donation boxes and all this hard work raising money went towards our Christmas toy drive, Donations to Angel Flight, Australian Rotary health, Malaria Vaccine project and sending one young student to RYTS.
One of our projects for this year will be the upgrading of the Lady Small Dementia wing. Lady Small Haven Nursing home that is located within Benowa and provides caring assistance for the elderly. Currently the Dementia wing unfortunately has an unusable courtyard area, limiting residents access to enjoy the outdoors. As a club we intend on making a positive impact on the resident’s care allowing them the opportunity to explore the outdoors, with family and friends. Our Christmas in July celebrations will be at the hub Tuesday 25th July and all proceeds of the evening will go towards this project. Please remember to bring along a small gift that can be placed under our Christmas tree. These gifts will be delivered to the residents.
