Halloween at Karambezi

here are very few words I can use to describe last night (as whole for me as such because the night didn’t end at Dinner) J - but one of those words has to be Awesome…!! The support and fellowship shared and extended by our fellow Rotarians was remarkable… To send out an email on Monday afternoon and expect only 15 or 18 people to have shown up but to have to add extra tables and chairs, TWICE !! shows the members are really looking forward to sharing fellowship… (I lost count as to how many we were at the end)

Sadru came in without sending an email and with a young pretty American, thus I couldn’t say no to him – only to later realize that he just came to show her off and left early saying the night was too young and moon was too full to be wasted J I hope he woke up today morning because I have heard those ‘full moons’ do have side effects J

Moustafa came in with his best and sat next to her closer than the Americans sit next to Israel, only to later see that as he just stepped away for 5 minutes she had mingled with the Indian women and his seat was taken… but he made a good comeback by offering her to share ice-cream… Experience they say, is what makes the difference in these sort of situations… J

Our President found out that it was his Birthday yesterday, it seems with age, people do forget their birthdays only to be reminded by others… or was it his birthday? Nonetheless, a birthday song and a cake with a ‘princess sparkle’ on top was brought to his Excellency and he had no option but to blow… What followed next was more surprising as 3 other birthday’s were celebrated too… A small world…

The ambience and décor was very well done with the pumpkins and the ghoul lighting, not to mention ‘some’ Rotarians who had to dress up to look scary, whereas the rest as always were scary enough in their normal attire J

Last but not least, a special thank you to our President – a gesture from him that the bill would be paid by him, We thank you President Vinay (The rest can also thank me because I took our President to the Bar which most definitely could have been an influencing factor in this gesture made by him J - I am sure Sadru is now thinking why he didn’t stay for the full dinner) – but once again, a most sincere Thank you to our President for this gesture…

By the end of the night, We were almost Mexicans with the amount of Tequila on the table – I even heard Johnson speak some Spanish? Or was that Chaga? Either way it sounded very exotic J
