Mission Statement
The mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.
Weymouth Rotary Club
Founded in 1924 by a group of local businessmen, The Weymouth Rotary Club has been involved in making a difference here in Weymouth. Over the years, our club has grown to over 100 members who are actively involved with service projects and support to local organizations as well as supporting activities throughout the world.
We are part of an international organization of over 1.2 million business leaders and professionals from over 200 countries, all committed to our motto of SERVICE ABOVE SELF. Guided by a Four Way Test which promotes high ethical standards, honesty, fairness and consideration for others in all that we do, Rotarians are committed to making a difference in the world in which we live.
Locally, we have a variety of long standing service projects and we offer financial support for local organizations, programs and events.
Internationally, we support Rotary’s goal to eradicate polio worldwide; provide clean water and sanitation facilities, feed the hungry, provide maternal and early childhood health initiatives, promote literacy and peace and conflict resolutions. Members of our club have travelled to Guatemala, India and South Africa to volunteer and support projects which fall under our international guidelines.
