Our Friend Daniele Schiuma visited RC Milano International and received a positive report on our mutual project „Accademia delle due Ruote“.

The project is initiated the RC Milano International and received a Global Grant in cooperation with the RC Munich International.

The Rotarian project ‘Two-Wheels Academy’ has been designed to face two critical problems: the increasing premature school leave and the severe youth unemployment.

To cope with these issues, it has been requested the help and support of the two-wheels society: motorcycles and bicycles will be the starting point for new educational paths, together with a continuous awareness to road safety.

The project intends to provide effective help to young individuals who have lost their way and have a very hard time in finding a job.  Finding a job might be extremely difficult, if not impossible, for an individual who did not complete school studies or has previous justice issues. The project is aiming to support young individuals completing their studies (together with the main Partner La Strada Onlus) and to provide workshops and stages to learn the cycle and motorcycle technician job. It is the project’s intent to create new work opportunities within the two-wheels society by employing these individuals who have successfully completed the training for a 6 months’ internship by selected companies, with the possibility of hiring at the end of the experience.

This project has already been developed at the end of 2016 with the support and collaboration of the Prison of Bollate (Milano) through motorcycles workshops and from May 2017 it has been extended to bicycles, together with the Partner In-Presa.
